The Sailors Festival

26, 27 and 28 of May 2012

This is the older celebration in Honfleur. Every year since 1861 the « Sea people » as they are called here, gather at Whitsun. On White Sunday there’s a mass and the Benediction of the Sea. On White Monday, there’s a procession to Notre Dame de Grâce, which is a small chapel on the top of a hill close to the town center.

Shrimp Festival

29 and 30 of September 2012

The inhabitants of Honfleur await this festival with much excitement, as it brings a sense of fun to the picturesque port in autumn. The queen of the festival is the little grey shrimp, the “petite grise”, which is a local speciality.

This small crustacean was an obvious choice as the symbol for an event which celebrates the maritime vocation of Honfleur: « la Fête de la crevette » with its concerts of sea shanties, shrimp peeling competition, stands, gathering of old sea vessels …

Russian Film Festival

A selection of the year’s Russian films in the presence of invited producers and actors. A jury comprising of well-known personalities will decide on the winning films.
